Dodge

Born in 1992, Dodge is a Paint. He is a little older and wiser than some of the younger ponies, and he is wonderful with beginner riders and young children in our therapeutic riding programs. The American Paint Horse is extremely popular in traditional stock-horse western events as well as a variety of other riding disciplines. He sure is a favorite with our riders.

Goldie

Born in 1998, Goldie is a Chestnut Haflinger with a white mane and big beautiful brown eyes. Haflingers were originally developed to work in the mountainous regions as pack horses and for agricultural work. This feature plus her smooth gait, reliability, and temperament make Goldie an excellent therapeutic pony.

Lavinia

Born in 2000, Lavina is a Westphalian Warmblood who was imported from Germany when her owner Jessica moved to America. Students who have learned to canter with utmost balance may sometimes ride Lavinia. She is the ultimate in smooth enjoyable riding.

Mr. Ed

Born in 1994, Mr. Ed is a very cute Shetland Pony. In the winter, his thick coat turns fluffy white; in the summer he regains his Palomino coloring. Mr. Ed is quite intelligent, perfect for very small children, and he loves attending birthday parties. He is best friends with Emily, the pig, his very close neighbor in the next pen.

Tommy Girl

Born in 1995, Tommy Girl is a Welsh/Thoroughbred. She is taller than the ponies and is a favorite horse for young riders, since she trots and canters well and is easy to steer. Tommy Girl loves carrot snacks, but she gets sick if she eats apples.

Daisy

Born in 2004, Daisy is a Pony of the Americas (POA). The first POA was bred in 1954, from an Arabian/Appaloosa mare and a Shetland Pony stallion. Daisy has the distinctive coloring and markings of an Appaloosa, which includes her spotted back, white around her eyes, and striped hooves. Daisy is a very sweet pony and loves attention. Daisy is currently not at the farm but working with some more advanced riders.

Domi

Born in 2002, Domi is a Norwegian Fjord, one of the oldest breeds in the world. Domi has found a new home and is no longer at Lend a Hand. He was a favorite for many of our visitors and riders. We hope Domi and his new family the best of times for their future together.
